Confinement - Day 12 : Shower Day!

I’m finally entitled to Shower finally!! Hip Hip Hurray to that!!
Anyone tht have not went thru a traditional Chinese confinement will fail to appreciate the monumental significant of this.

Ok let me try to explain.

Try to Imagine :
- Going thru labour and coming out of it all sweaty and sticky. No shower or wipes allowed. (Although I did insisted to wipe myself after that with the excuse that I am bloody and dirty from the birthing, and got away with that )

- Eating heaty (i.e. lotsa Herbs/Ginger/Wine) and steamy food every meal in a room without fan / air cond

- Not allowed to clean or wipe yourself for 12 Day - READ -> TWELVE freaking HOT Days!

Today is Day 12 of my Confinement, and according to my MIL (Mother-In-Law), I’m allowed to take a Hot Herbal Bath. Although you are not literally allowed to bath as in Shower style.. you are allowed to wash yourself using a Steaming Herbal preparation bath water.

Traditionally they are suppose to boil some dried herbs with red onions and other ingredients that has warming property that is believed to be able to displel ‘winds’. However to make life easier for my dear MIL, I’m using a Herbal Bath from the Amway’s Tropical Herbs series. Its pretty easy.

Just boil the Herbal sachet in 2 liter of Hot water for 20 mins and then mix it with cold water to make a lukewarm bath solution.

The description on the packaging says :

Combination of highly aromatic herbs that refreshes and reenergizes. Deodorizes the body and relieves minor skin problems.

This is how the products looks like.

However I was too eager to take the bath, thus forgetting to snap a photo of how the end results from the boiled solutions looks like. =P The pinkish rose coloured solution smells mildly herbal, very refreshing and quite pleasing. ^.^
